COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Prefectship Excellence Programme is a structured leadership and responsibility development course designed to professionalise prefectship and prepare learners for leadership beyond school.
Prefectship is often a learner’s first experience of authority, discipline enforcement, ethical decision-making, and peer leadership. This programme ensures that prefects understand the purpose of their role, the limits of their power, and the responsibility that comes with authority, while developing transferable leadership skills required in tertiary education, the workplace, and society.
Drawing inspiration from the GLC High School Leadership Manual 2025, the course integrates:
-
Foundational leadership theory
-
Self-leadership and character development
-
Historical and contemporary case studies
-
Practical prefect duties and challenges
-
Conflict management, ethics, and accountability
-
Real-world leadership readiness
The programme moves prefects from positional authority to values-based influence, ensuring they lead with credibility, professionalism, and integrity.
